1-3/4 C brown sugar
3/4 C dry milk powder (I used the “Kiss of Cream” kind)
1 C cornstarch
1/4 t salt
Combine all ingredients and store in container with tight-fitting lid. Makes 3 cups mix, yielding 24 servings of prepared pudding.
To make pudding, stir mix well. Combine ingredients, using the following amounts, in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Simmer gently, stirring, for a minute. Pour into serving dishes and serve warm or chilled. Optional: Garnish with whipped cream and a sprinkle of dark cocoa powder.
Two servings: 1/4 C mix, 2 T butter (1/4 stick), 1 C milk
Four servings: 1/2 C mix, 4 T butter (1/2 stick), 2 C milk
Six servings: 3/4 C mix, 6 T butter (3/4 stick), 3 C milk
Eight servings: 1 C mix, 8 T butter (1 stick), 4 C milk
