CHOCOLATE OATMEAL BARS

1 C flour
1/2 t cinnamon
1 C (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
1/2 C sugar
1/2 C packed brown sugar
1-1/2 t vanilla
1 egg
1-1/4 C quick or old-fashioned oats, uncooked
2 C (11-1/2 oz package) milk chocolate chips, divided
3/4 C finely chopped walnuts, divided

Combine flour and cinnamon in small bowl. Beat butter, sugars, and vanilla in large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in egg. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in oats, 3/4 C chips, and 1/2 C nuts. Spread into lightly greased 9×13 pan.

Bake in preheated 350 F oven for 22 to 28 minutes or until center is set. Immediately sprinkle with remaining chips; let stand for 5 minutes or until chips are shiny. Spread chips; sprinkle with remaining nuts. Cool in pan on wire rack.

Makes about 2-1/2 dozen.
