Copper and Brass Cleaner
1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup flour white
About a cup of vinegar
Heat vinegar until warm, then add just enough to the salt and flour to make a paste. Spread cleaner on copper or brass. Let dry; brush off with a soft cloth.

You can make a smaller or larger amount, as long as the salt and flour amounts are equal. I’d expect it to keep indefinitely, but I don’t know that from experience.
